My life: Crazy and Beautiful
We all have stories; here's mine

My mom, God bless her soul.
She worked hard to raise me.
Baby daddy leaving her six months pregnant.
Just to go smoke meth with his friends.
She spent the first nine months of my life alone as a single mom.
Then something happened that would change both of our lives
She met a man.
The man who changed her life.
Not only did he love her, but he also fell in love with her daughter.
He treated her as if he was his own.
Making holidays special.
Being kind and sweet to the two of them.
They went out for almost 3 years.
Then he popped the question.
He asked for her hand in marriage.
She said yes.
Weeks before the wedding she got a surprise.
She was pregnant with a baby.
They had a beautiful wedding.
Everyone in their family has joined to see her walk down the aisle.
In her beautiful white dress.
That next Christmas they received a gift.
She gave birth to a beautiful girl.
They were happy and in bliss for the arrival of their daughter.
I was only four years old when I received my beautiful sister.
Then came the best thing any girl could ask for.
My dad asked my mom if he can adopt me.
So he can say im his daughter.
She said yes, he went to the family court and the judge said yes.
I was living the dream.
I had a loving and caring family.
I had the best babysitter anyone could ask for.
She was sweet and kind and was like a grandmother to me.
Then when I was 7 years old my life changed.
I was attacked by a dog.
His name was Zeus: a Chow Chow.
He attacked me on the back of my head and left puncture wounds and part of my right ear.
Thankfully I rolled over on my stomach when it happed.
I remember looking in the mirror.
I had blood dripping from my long blonde hair.
I went to the emergency room.
I still remember the paramedics asking me which hospital to take me to.
I told him St. Children’s Hospital.
Little did I know it was going to be my worst nightmare.
I had to get 6 staples in the back of my head and stitches in my ear.
They told me to go home and have my parents look at the puncture wounds.
They missed one.
The antibiotic they prescribed me would too be a surprise.
I was allergic to it, causing my joints to swell up to the point where I couldn’t walk.
I was taken to Cardinal Glennon.
It felt like heaven.
Great nurses and doctors.
They took care of me.
Nursing me back to health.
After some physical therapy, I was doing so much better.
I went home and was myself again.
Happy and cheerful just as I was before
I even received a card from Cardinal Glennon asking how I was feeling.
To this day I forgive Zeus for what he did.
He didn’t know the impact he would have on my life.
It was just his instincts.
This was my story.
the things that happened were the things that changed my life for the better.
Good and bad.
Im thankful I had God on my side.
I’m older now and doing better
I still remember the day it happened.
A memory that will never leave my mind.
The horrors that I had to go through still lingers in my mind.
Yet one good thing came from it.
I no longer have fear of anything that comes my way.
