Living As An Teenager In 2021

There is no such thing as perfect

I try my best to please my parents

From time to time I mess up

Dealing with Depression and Anxiety is no fun

Feeling like everything you do is never right

The constant fear of getting yelled at because of something you did

Yes you may deserve it but not with a harsh tone behind it

Working hard on your homework

Barely being able to keep your head above water

Trying your best to get A’s but barely being able to pass your classes

The constant fear of someone trying to pick a fight with you

Seeing fights happening in your own school

School is supposed to be a place where you can feel safe

Yet it feels like its the opposite

Seeing people post about the parties they attend and feel like your getting left behind

The fear of judgment based on your clothing choices

They say nobody will remember in 30 years but they will remember now

Getting mistreated by things you cant help

If your skinny they say to eat more

Yet if your “fat” they say to go on I diet

If you don’t have any muscle your a weakling

People will judge you by your body

If you have small breasts people will say “You’re flat-chested” or “you look like an ironing board”

They say if your “fat” you can’t wear crop tops

Its a cruel world that we are growing up in

Seeing on the news about protests going on

Watching police hurt innocent people

Seeing people raiding the White House

Even with all of this going on there is still hope

One thing that nobody can take away from you is your will power

Be the change you want to see in the world
