My Inspiration

I want to be where Your imagination sits. To be close to Your chest of secrets.

Lord, a thousand quips could be penned by my hand, but nothing compares to the words that come from Your lips.

I want to be where Your imagination sits.

To be close to Your chest of secrets.

I’ve heard that Your heart is a place I can dwell.

Then please Lord, let me dwell there.

I want to know everything about You, though my body cannot contain it.

How fulfilling eternity will be to constantly learn about You and do what You do.

An iron Scepter is in Your hand. He is the one who comes to sweep the streets of the City.

He keeps all of Heaven and Earth in order.

He is Your Son, my Lord and Savior.

The oak tree withers and a new tree is born.

A storm blows and old bark is worn.

All those who are forever reborn will no longer mourn,

for the morning has come after this long dreary night.

Thank God, day is stronger than night, that light shines out the darkness.

Chilean fire trees, rose bushes, rainbows and jewels,

Colors we have never tasted, food we have never seen

What weighs behind the glory of Your majesty?

A heart with love heavier than gold and more precious than rubies?

The mind of the one who brought goodness into existence?

Hands that stretch across the universe

And dips His pen in ink

To etch out my life’s purpose?

It is You I serve with these lips.

You are the inspiration of words I hear in my head,

Spilled out through black drips.

You are where my heart is.
