My Hunt To Find Eyeglasses

I want ones that feel and look right.

By Darla M SeelyPublished 3 months ago Updated 3 months ago 1 min read

Every time I try to read a book,

I feel so awkward and out of place

'Cause the words look very small to me.

Unless the book's inches from my face.

I have a hard time seeing numbers

On every decorative wall clock.

I can never seem to judge distance

When I ride a bike so I will walk.

The times I see things on a chalkboard

Are only the times I squint my eyes.

"We need to buy you some eyeglasses,

Mom said, And we'll buy you the right size."

I missed school one day. My eyes were checked.

The first ones I tried on were too tight.

The next eyeglasses were just too loose.

Finally, some eyeglasses fit right.

I could see numbers, words much better.

No one laughed; glasses looked good on me.

I started doing better in school.

Objects outside I could clearly see.
