My Home in Delaware
How many times have you visited Delaware? Do you live there now?
If you had the Dupont Hotel and a care
You would find a good theater there.
The state insect is a ladybug, not so rare
But that's the reality of Delaware.
If you thought of fireworks, just to stare,
The break from PA you could share.
If you stepped like Garrett on a stair
You’d know the journey of Delaware.
The state’s business is quite fair.
From the firms that sign up without err,
To the business of blue crabs that pair
With the dollars made by folks in Delaware.
At UD or Del Tech you could be a chair.
You could become a teacher and square
Your sights on students who dare
To drive ideas of my home in Delaware.

Smartystan
Chanda sent home money every two weeks. In a small village in India, she deposited money into the bank account of her aunt and uncle who sent her to live in America. The place seemed so remote, almost cut off from the rest of the country. There, a festival took place where participants hurled cow eliminations at each other. The muddy, mucky sense of it had been known for centuries. Locals tied it to an ancient god who they believed restored people’s health with the cow plops. During the festival, thick patties passed through the air and smushed into the bodies and faces of those rollicking around in the filth.
