My Drowning Heart

Sinking fast can I survive?

My Drowning Heart

It sinks beneath relentless waves,

each pulse swallowed by the tide.

Air escapes with every thought,

leaving me to wonder if I will rise again.

Memories cling like seaweed to my chest,

pulling me deeper with their weight.

Reaching for something solid, something safe,

I find only the emptiness of my own hands.

The world continues above the surface,

unaware of the struggle below.

Every heartbeat feels like a battle,

every breath a reminder of fragility.

I fight beneath the crushing dark,

hoping for a glimmer of air or light.

Even if I never surface fully,

I hold the thought that I am still here.
