My Body is My Birthright

A poem about reproductive rights

By Lily DunlopPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I wasn’t ready to be

The whole world

To someone

Until I was

my body is my birthright - Lily Dunlop

Her body is her birthright and their body is theirs. Nearly 60% of all abortions are had by people who are already mothers. As #shirleychisholm put it: “Abortion is a fact of life. Women have always had them; they always have and they always will. Are they going to have good ones or bad ones? Will the good ones be reserved for the rich, while the poor women go to quacks?”

Overturning Roe will not end abortion. It will end SAFE Abortion.

One way we can fight back right now is by sharing information about the abortion pill - Abortion Pills are now available by mail in all 50 states, but that fact is not widely known. Shout it from the rooftops, share resources, and protect women by ensuring safe access to abortion care.
