My Beautiful Disaster

In the darkest recesses of my mind

My mistakes linger like cobwebs

Torturing my soul for an elusive peace

That evaporates as my beautiful disaster unfolds

Words of comfort fade

Repelled by my anxious thoughts

Falling through the cracks in my imaginary walls

And evaporate as my beautiful disaster unfolds

Tangled in emotions

Battered by the pounding waves

I curl up in your arms and let the storm pass

As my beautiful disaster unfolds

When the storm passes

I wrestle my dragon down

Until there’s nothing left to cling to

But memories that linger like cobwebs
