Do you think that there is extraterrestrial life?
Would life found on some distant rock change your
View on the type of a ‘higher power'?
Would aliens change your views about more
Than just where ideas tend to flower?
The true search for life outside of this orb
Proves to be of chief concern for science.
It is much too hard for some to absorb
When the unknown is but their reliance.
New life, intelligent or not, would be
The discovery that would define States.
For the individuals who will see
The life forms, their work would honor the greats.
Every skeptic in the world just knows that
Even smart folks called the planet Earth flat.
