Moving Forward

Welcome to my generation,

Here the most important debate is the Xbox vs the PlayStation,

Girls hating themselves and dying to be perfect,

Boys hurting each other to try and prove they are worth it,

We are a ruined society and it would be an understatement to say that we earned it,

But this does not change the painful fact,

That as a teen growing up today,

We are surrounded by hate,

I know we only have ourselves to blame for that,

We make it harder for us to trust one another,

Sister turning on sister,

Brother turning on brother,

You complain about us without thinking,

You are also to blame for this world sinking,

We don't know how to change what we have been given,

This world is a cell,

A pure living hell,

Don't talk to me about human rights and ethics,

You're driven by your outlandish antics,

You preach what you don't endorse,

Then feel you have a right on someone else's life course,

And throughout it all,

I doubt I'm the only one who sees this downfall,

And you wonder why most kids are trapped in computer screens?

We would do anything to escape from your distorted realities,

You can hand me your ways on how to live life,

And in return i will hand you a knife,

Both are just as lethal,

And often handed out by those who are decietful,

If you truly care for us show us the way,

Instead of turning your backs and leading us astray.
