The butter and salt aroma became intense

As my stomach began to fight back

Was this a set time for dinner?

Had I just finished an unplanned fast ?

The door closed to an unlit room

The only light available was a glare from the screen

The limited cool breeze danced around my ankles

As my eyeballs automatically adjusted to find vacant seats

Several squeezes and excuse me’s as I made my way

The final plop in the limited seating brought pleasure to a long day

As the bucket rested in my lap

The sound from speakers suddenly increased

I was finally where I wanted to be

In a theater, with salt on my tongue, in peace

love poems
