Breathe in these words
Scented like cut grass
And lavender
Traveling from my heart
To yours
Breathe them out
To establish a pattern
Every breath
Is a slow
Deliberate
Step on a path
Up a
Steep
Mountain passage
Shaded with sappy pine trees
Breathing deeply
You can't help but notice their
Pleasant lung opening effect
Though the farther you go
The more you must tuck in
And squeeze
You feel no fear
As you squish
Through this tight lichen-painted pass
Since it opens up quickly
Into a lively meadow
Of silky green grass
Dotted with wildflowers
Petals floating in the
Rosy, sweet air
Butterflies dancing
With fat bumble bees
In the shade of
One giant ancient oak tree
A family of squirrels fights
With the starling jays
For this precious territory
The glimpse of vibrant life
Prompts you to run happy and
Free into the open
A person, you finally see, is there
Lying in the center of the field
In the only spot of
Lazy swaying shade
Slowly you approach
Not wanting to startle
Daisies dance at your feet
With the blushing oleander
Not to worry, I say
Rising in acknowledgment
I extend my hand to you
Now, my friend
Bestow my wishes that
Your days have beauty
Without end
