It was cold today
Too cold to ride, I say
We had a few days freeze
I was not out in that breeze
My low is 50 degrees
I wore my dungarees
~
Bikes ready for the winter
Somehow, I got a splinter
Next year, tires will be bought
Bikes will get parked in their spot
A full tank of gasoline
They are put away clean
~
On warm days, he starts them
I question if I ride from
year to year as I age
I am in that stage
Where I have to debate
whether it is wise or not
Today, though, it hit the spot
~
Chilly but nice and fun
It was just me and my Hon
It was a date night
The sun was shining bright
We went out for dinner
Hubby was a grinner
Checking one more thing
Off his winter to spring
list of things on his scroll
Halloween is his goal
~
He is a determined one
He is a son of a gun
He will get it done
My bike goes in first
He rides that way, I’m cursed
It is a day or two
And for many years, I knew
it wouldn’t come true
~
My bike is red, his
bike is blue, he says
the blue Hulk and little
Red Riding Hood to belittle
doesn’t work as I like that
and I like to call him a brat!

What a great rhyming poem and one of companionship and love. You got that sense of freedom from your ride and I think you may have a few more years to enjoy the ride. Great job.
I love your poem. Last bike ride for the season, until spring. I am to scared to ride a motorcycle. I am admire people who does 😊
Oooo, what are his plans for Halloween?
Fabulous writing Denise! I love your rhyme scheme! BRAVO!
This is such a charming and down-to-earth piece. It feels like a cozy glimpse into real life and love.
It sure can be exciting to ride a motorbike. I'm sure this won't be your last ride, though <3
