Ascending my years of youth, I look toward the new before me,
No plan or real dreams, just a spirit full of yearning, eager to be free.
Years had been tough, and my soul was often blue, and while I shone for all to see, no one really knew.
In all my eagerness, many errors were made, yet a calmness ravaged my dread and challenges were left to fade.
My spirit now as wild as the ocean and the blue still runs deep, I am not afraid as with my sisterhood I sleep.
With waves of emotion, many beds did I lie, I feel the goddess in me, for her I can’t deny.
The weight of old now lifted, and opportunities abound, many miles were travelled but now am I found.
About the Creator
Linda Newfield
Writing for me is an expression of the emotions influencing the physical. I live in Australia and the ruggedness of land has shaped who I am.
Who am I?
I am and activist for social change and justice.
I am the wind which brings the storm.
