Morning Wealth
Day 65.2/365

I crack open an egg
and let the yellow yolk
plop
into the bowl.
I whisk the gloopy mass
of protein
together
watching the rich sunny center
blend
into the clear
delicate
whites
a sprinkle of salt
a dash of pepper
then drizzle the pale
runny ovum
into a hot pan
sizzling with already
melted butter.
I stir
with a spatula
around and around
until the liquid
turns to
fluffy
yellow
goodness.
Onto a plate
aside buttered toast and jam
I lift my fork
and take a bite
of the decadence.
In this moment
I feel rich.
