A decent life does not have to be
Air travel to exotic places,
Gourmet, delicious food,
Or fashionable clothes.
It can be more practical things.
I read late into the night
And went to slumber,
A peaceful, long one,
Woke up when I needed
To see that view:
Marine fog-draped hills,
Green lush trees and shrubs,
And agile birds looking for food.
Serenity prevailed.
Got my kid ready for preschool,
Stuffing things lovingly, into her bag,
And her pink octopus toy for comfort.
Tended to my cranky toddler,
Took a break from morning chaos,
Had breakfast of leftover pizza
And hot milk tea
As I browsed my feed,
Legs stretched, in relaxation,
Life seemed pretty good.
It could have been worse.
What if I had to commute
And be in a toxic workplace,
Where I resented each minute?
At this age, I hate that.
I love sharing knowledge,
But I can’t stand vitriol
And can’t tolerate control.
Soon I will go for a nature stroll,
A duty-filled morning
With freedom and learning.
It’s tranquil and soothing.

Same here for my day starts with walking the dogs, making my coffee after feeding and watering them, then a few household chores before settling down to work with reading, writing and commenting. Thanks goodness no commute no longer than walking down a hallway. Good job.
I admire your life 😊😍 Thankyou for sharing your beautiful and satisfied life❤️
Sounds like a pretty great day to me!
