Bundled up in my coozie

My hands wrapped around my warm cup of coffee

I sit on the porch swing observing dawn.

Dew mingled all over the greyed grass.

There was finally a bite to the morning air

But I didn't care.

I took a deep breath in

Exhaled it out

With a smirk lingering on the side of my smile

I took a sip of my coffee.

Sitting in silence,

Until the birds begin to wake and start to sing

The sky is beautiful

Crisp clean lines of clouds mingled among the darkness until the reds, orange, and yellows take to the sky.

I took a deep breath.

I exhaled my worries and fears

Today was a new day

Today I had woken up

I was thankful for that

Today I'm going to live.
