Morning Routine

A poem.

By Renee ChardonnayPublished 6 years ago 1 min read
Jaho Coffee Roaster & Wine Bar in Boston, MA.

Four mountainous heaps of earthy grounds

Twelve ounces of roasting water

Click to brew

Slumped over the counter

Eyes heavy with sleepies

The pitter patter of anxious finger tapping

Pierces through a wild yawn

* beepbeepbeep *

The sound of life

The soothing bitter aromas

pry open squinted eyes

Satisfying sounds of rich coffee splashing on ceramic

A dash of Sugar in the Raw

A quick pour of vanilla soy makes it sweet and creamy

Feeling the warmth on both palms

Sluuuurrp!

Ahhh…I love mornings.
