Morning Light

A poem

The sun rose perfectly today

a glimpse of Eden cast over the melting shadows

vegetation light filtering,

shimmering through every window in tastable green.

Pleasant air just this side of cool, playing with leaves,

light and shadow rippling through waving glass.

Fragrant bowls of white lilacs spread throughout the house

sharpening into individual florets framed by green leaves.

The bronze cricket bell, green-tinged

hung between open doors,

paper strip tied to its tongue flickering as it twists,

giving voice to its unclouded tinkle

inviting aural pleasure in dayspring.

The calligraphy of birdsong recording its magic spell,

illuminating the road through the unused gate

softening the lifting darkness

keeping the outside world at bay,

facing east in prayer.

The magic of nature in all its glory. Every word promises renewal and light. Vivid images and the senses are filled. An excellent description of the new beginning each dawn brings. ☀️
