More Than One Hue

We all have a little rainbow inside of us

In the morning I am a soft yellow,

With gleams of gold trying to shine out.

A world of black pulling me back to sleep.

During the day I am lilac.

Soft and caring to those around me.

The ones who truly know me say I’m more of a violet.

When I am bright red, I am strong, I am bold.

I am a woman in touch with my femininity and have no shame in saying so.

When I am crimson red, I know my power and do not take away from others.

I let others around me shine.

I am making a statement by saying nothing.

In a world of black and white, I am grey.

Floating between the two because the sides have blended.

There is no strong line between good and evil .

We are multitudes of colors and shades.

We’re all a bit of the rainbow around us.

Why can’t we all just accept,

That were a little more than just one hue.
