Moonlit Memories

Crashing Waves

By Katrina PridePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Listening to the crashing of the waves under the moonlit sky, my mind goes back to a much simpler time.

A memory comes to mind of when it felt like time stood still and everyone else disappeared.

A memory that I fantasized about for so long it’s almost as if I manifested it into existence.

The only difference is that the reality was by far more amazing than my fantasy could ever imagine.

A dream come true would be an understatement and an insult to what this moment was made of.

A deeper depth of happiness reached with every shared laugh.

A greater sense of comfort with every glance gazed.

A more profound form of passion with every touch passed.

Never having experienced anything like this moment before, I feared I would unintentionally ruin it with all of the voices in my head screaming this isn’t real.

But as real as your presence, so was this moment, so I silenced all the internal noise and lived in the moment enjoying this reality that seemed so surreal.

As unreal as it felt, I quickly understood this memory was mine to keep and cherish forever no matter what else would happen.

But with a surprise twist, I soon realized this memory was only the first of what could be many more nights spent under the moonlit sky.
