Moonlit

A mental health journey

Place me within walls

And tell me who I am to be

What I am to say

Tell me how to talk to the moon

Without the stars hearing and sharing my secrets

In the way they do

Laughing with the ghosts in my closet

Calling me crazy

When all seems impossible

And all is within my grasp

If I only make the effort

How is it

That as surely as the sun rises in the east

And sets in the west

The easiest of tasks

Evade me

Swallow me up and drown me

Bury me alive

I cannot breathe within these walls

But without them

I am not safe
