Moonlight

The Beacon in the Darkness

By Mercedes ChavezPublished about a year ago 1 min read

I could see it, the light coming off of it, the dark spots on it

The moon, so beautiful, seemingly getting closer

So close, I could reach out and touch it

Only to pull back my hand

Moonlight glowing in the center of my palm

It's incredibly soft, I can barely feel it

It gives off a small purr-like sound

My eyes are completely fixed on it

Mesmerized, I can't feel anything else around me

It is almost as if I no longer exist here

On this Earth, on this plane of existence

I am only the holder of light

Forever the beacon in the darkness

Come with me, lets go on an adventure together, see the world through my eyes, let me paint a picture with my words, I promise you will be able to feel what I felt the first time I experienced it. Love, sadness and everything in between.

"I am the only holder of light". This line feels surreal.
