The sun left this evening
in her fiery golden gown,
shimmering and bold,
and as she swept off with a flourish,
she tossed her light to you.
You were quietly waiting
In the wings, in a pale elegance.
You smoothly caught the light
And as you rose, you became
Brighter and more vibrant with
Your borrowed light.
In an intricate dance of light
And reflection, you two
Give and take in a beautiful
Symphony.
Her fire, your cool, forever linked
Together in a velvet sky.
I walked by this empty room and
The beauty of you casting the
Sun’s light through the window
Was captivating, romantic.
You are an example of how one needs not
Their own light, and indeed how the
power of reflecting another’s light can
Brighten the darkest corners.
I can’t help but reflect on the beauty and
Awe that is you, as you reflect the sun’s
Fiery light from the other side of the
World.
The magnificence of moonlight.
