Mood Swings

When golden hour dims into feeling blue!

A touch,

a brief warm

nudge. Of orange,

blue, and colours

through. Yellow,

pink and hues,

a ruse to

escape

the

blues.

Warm colours

fade. Wavelengths

no longer separate.

Heavy moods deluge.

Dapi stain death blue.

Overwhelmed

with all

things

overdue.

Jazzy blues, be my muse!

Shower, spritz of orange

and burnt vanilla

perfume, warm

cookies

and

tiramisu.

Ping? No ping!

Blue ridge road elope.

Frontal lobe on reload.

Soul tortured with

lust and hate.

Reticent much!

WHY DO I EVEN CARE!

Ping!

“I hope you had a good day!”

And just like that

golden hour.

A

touch,

a brief warm

nudge. Of orange,

blue, and colours

through.

This was one of the 5 poems I wrote inspired by the Color is Pride: True Colors challenge supported and hosted thanks to Vocal and Moleskine. It’s been fun creating and reading the submissions to see what thoughts and emotions colours would elicit. And personally if anything has been consistent these days, it’s the lovely MOOD swings. Little things make me happy and at times these little things take my light. Easier said than done, but I try to remind myself that it’s okay to feel how you feel. Take a moment! Breathe!

If you’ve enjoyed reading this, I hope you can relate to my Let’s dive into the ocean poem below. Wouldn’t that be an escape!
