The story of a child left home alone

From the second you lock the door behind you

You don't leave me in an empty house

Loneliness has its own presence

And it follows me into every room

It's darker

Even when I turn on all the lights

//

And what should be a playground

Is now a fortress for real

Every creak becomes a villain

That's been waiting for you to leave

He's a monster who never strikes

Just torments me with tiny sounds

//

When you're a second later than you promised

You're both alive and dead

The door decides which news to give

So I plead with it for movement

To fill the house with the sounds of keys

The best sound in the world

//

I hope you have a terrible time

And you regret making plans

That's not true

I want you to be happy

I just hope you leave your heart behind

And not just money in the fridge
