Mom

A single moms work is never done

By Abi Rose TravisPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

She rises before dawn, no pause, no rest

A single mom in a ceaseless quest

Juggling worlds on weary hands

Each day a storm she struggles to withstand

Rooms echo with chaos, children’s cries

While inside her head a tempest flies

Overwhelmed, overstimulated, yet she stands

A fortress built in shifting sands

No time for breaks, no quiet reprieve

Her heart breaks softly but won’t leave

Carrying burdens no one sees

A silent warrior on her knees

Though weariness casts a heavy shroud

She wears her strength like a crown

Pushing through the relentless tide

With fierce love and stubborn pride

Every whispered wish, every midnight tear

She swallows down for those she holds dear

For in her soul, a fire ignites

A mother’s love that fuels her fights

Always moving, never slowing

In this endless river, she keeps flowing
