a story for a child i wish was truly rare

rare like a shooting star

less children questioning why dont they love them

so many whys confusion in young eyes

many mothers holding tears trying to reply

one income homes raising kids on their own

with bills past due and collectors on the phone

stress on her mind stress on her body

no sleep through the weeks feeling weak maybe probably

lord give em strength struggling in dark hours

and please bless the fathers whose hearts arent of cowards

in homes of the same whole love their kids and arent ashamed
