In the quiet corners of memory's keep,
Lingers a whisper, soft and deep.
A puzzle piece, once snug and near,
Now absent, causing hearts to sear.
A laugh that echoed through the night,
A smile that bathed in morning light.
Footsteps that danced upon the floor,
Now heard in echoes, nevermore.
In cherished photos, frozen smiles,
In vacant spaces, longing wiles.
The warmth of touch, a fleeting trace,
Now a void, an empty space.
Time ticks on, yet hearts stand still,
Yearning for what time can't refill.
A presence lost, a bond untwine,
Leaving shadows where sun used to shine.
