they said

“She’s quiet today.”

But they didn’t ask why.

They said

“She's tired lately.”

But didn’t ask what from.

They said

“She’s just dramatic.”

When her smile slipped.

And when her sleeves stayed long even during summer.

They missed the sad posts.

The extra drinks.

The shaky hands.

The smile that faded.

They called it

“A phase.”

“Attention-seeking.”

"Too much."

until the room was quiet for real.

until the laughter stopped.

until the note was found,

Sometimes,

The only clue is that they stopped showing clues.

And even then,

nobody noticed.
