Mirage by E.S. Norrick
An excerpt from “Quietly Shouting- A Collection of Observational Poetry”
Shimmering, shining, ball of light
Escaping my fingertips.
It's luminous,
It's ominous,
And it’s still just beyond my reach.
Thousands of shadows,
Making faces on these walls.
Some more deep, while others shallow,
Casting silhouettes of their falls.
Echoes of a figure,
Paraded through these halls.
From all things that are higher
The bigger come their falls.
But altitude sickness sets in quickly,
When they think they've seen it all.
Yet all I see are shadows.
And shadows never fall…..
