Memories are a strange phenomenon.

They can make you smile, or they can make you cry

Sometimes both

If you remember something you did together, it perhaps can make you smile

However, it could also be followed by tears

The same place that kept you connected to your lost loved one, can make you smile

However, at the same time be poking a hole in your heart

What once was- no longer is

Driving down the road, that you drove down many times before gives you a sense of familiarity

It also gives you a sense of sorrow, for what was, and no longer is.

What was the road I drove on with my son, is no longer the same road.

It might look the same, but Rick is not with me.

I ask myself why did God let this happen and that is not explained easily.

Rick lost his wife to liver failure in August of 2013.

A priest told him, "Richard God doesn't promise any of us tomorrow"

Through my tears, I remember the night five Delaware State Policeman came to my door, and told me a gunman, had put twelve bullets into his head and upper torso of my son.

Richard L Jacobs Jr, was brutally murdered sitting in his car, unarmed and unaware he was going to die, on March 27, 2015.

He was shot twelve times in the head and upper torso.

If you are wondering, Richard had a clean drug screen. It was one of the most brutal murder in the history of Kent County Delaware.

My husband and I went out looking on the streets of Kent County Delaware to find justice for my son. AND FIND IT WE DID!!!

JUSTICE SERVED!!!!

This is such a tough story to read. I can't even imagine what you've been through. Glad to see you found justice though.
