Midnight Tears

Glowing under lamp light

Shadows fall across the grass

Glowing under lamp light

My heart aches with the illumination

That I no longer have his heart

It has been covered by the denial of peace

What could bring peace, he refuses to accept

His heart has closed

It no longer beats with mine

I want to scream into the night,

Bawl my eyes out, lament in despair

The abrupt thunder does it for me

Lightning shooting across the dark sky

I smell the precipitation on the wind

It rustles the grass as I stand waiting...

Waiting for the tears to come

And fall upon my head

I don't have to wait long

heartbreak
