Midnight's Rage

I am only seeing red...

Slumber's Absence has come to visit me...

I stand helpless as I watch Hope walk away,

I know what intense restlessness is soon to follow‐

All night long...

tossing, turning,

turmoil and torment ensue‐

Under the moon's song...

the sky is only black for now,

the shine of the stars grow bleak‐

Only tired for the time being...

my heart is blistering,

and my mind is tearing in two‐

Fatigue is replaced with fury...

I've prayed plenty,

but Peace has decided to turn its back to my face‐

The moon turns dark, and the sky, red...

this bedroom might as well be a prison cell,

and this body blinded by anger might as well be its own rage room‐

The night is calm, but I feel a storm...

the world may be silent but that's only the environment outside of me,

inside of this vessel is an unforgivingly irate tirade‐

Midnight's Rage has come over me...

I am only seeing red,

even the breaths of my lungs have become livid‐

The torture continues...

on both the inside and out,

what once was a place of comfort had become a hell‐hole‐

This nightmare I'm awake in...

has turned my eyes and their vision red,

there is no prayer that can close them now‐

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
