Midlands

We Don't Break

In the merciless blaze of Pennsic’s unforgiving sun,

Midland soldiers stood, bold and resolute, their spirits steadfast,

Shields, the impenetrable scales of a dragon, overlapped as one,

As sweat traced their brows, each minute stretched vast.

His Highness, weapon in hand, stood close,

A bond of trust unspoken, yet deep and profound,

For the Midlands was his bulwark, his fierce defense,

Amidst the clamor where battle cries resound.

The Midlands held their line with unwavering truth,

Across their steadfast shields, Insurgent blows did rake

With every assault, the Midlands knew in sooth,

That though outnumbered, they would never break.

The sun bore down with relentless fury,

Sweat mingled with dust, the air a burden on their lungs,

Yet they stood firm, unwavering in their duty,

Shields a fortress, swords like a dragon’s fiery tongue.

Ten to one fought, against their indomitable will,

The Middle Kingdom, overwhelmed, lost the day,

But the Midlands stood unbroken still,

As countless foes paid the ultimate toll in the fray.

Though victory slipped beyond their grasp that day,

The spirit of the Dragon Army remained,

For Midland soldiers, in their steadfast array,

Proved that true valor is never stained.

In the heart of battle, friendships were forged in fire,

A sergeant’s shield, a spearman’s guard so true,

Though the war point was lost, their spirits soared higher,

For the pride of the Midlands forever endures, through and through.
