The Mosaic
There is a mosaic
Beneath my feet
Pages of poems
Torn and taped together

Beneath the soil
There is blood
And broken bones
A graveyard of moments
When depression had
Chained me to my bed
When betrayals had
Starved me of oxygen
When hopelessness had
Hanged me at the gallows
❀
But those moments are buried
And I have learnt to stop digging them up
❀
Now the pavement has flowers
Peeking through
The scent of new beginnings
Filling the May air
❀
And I can dare to say
That I am finally
Dancing across
A pathway of healing

The steps to losing a child
Step One: Lose a child. Not what anyone wants to happen and nothing you can do to change it, but you can go through steps to becoming happy again. You can go through steps to loving again. You can go through steps to become a new you because after losing a child you will never be the same person you once were.

This is gorgeous. I love the sense of awaking and renewal. I can see the flowers poking their head up the pavement. Congrats on the TS.

"A graveyard of moments" was where I was initially hooked.... but wow, I seriously am loving this series. It's got so many layers of depth and just little gems of relatable truth that speak to me so deeply!! That last stanza created a sense of hope that left me feeling uplifted and excited to see what the next part will hold!! Great work here Poppy!!
