Message to the Moon

a poem of the moon and men

Like the waves,

I was drawn to your stride,

Got lost in the ebb

and flow

of those tides.

You're always changing your face,

switching sides,

Like a Gemini,

turning away to hide.

There doesn't seem

a rhyme or a reason

how you change with the seasons

where you will be

in the sky.

Some days you leave

Some nights you're blue

And you're always trying

to claim that you're new.

But I've learned

just how fickle you are

you're just hard as a rock,

caught up with too many stars.

You've always been chasing the sun,

Chasing her light,

longing for her love,

You can't lie to me, I know,

I was never the one.

Claim you're a hunter,

while you reflect another's light,

I won't be dreaming of you

while I'm snuggled in tight,

but you'll

be up

all night.
