Mental Gymnastics
This head of mine, has such a large capacity for chaos, and tolerance for torment. That I often, always, question why that must be. Although, that just adds to this "gymnastic" routine that is my thought process.
Every thought, isn't just questioned,
They're debated‐
Every feeling, not just fought but,
Wrestled‐
Every motive, judged
With harsh scrutiny‐
Every hope, doubted
And every doubt, disagreed with
Everything conflicts
Heart
Mind
Body
Soul
Everything‐
Where am I really?
Where is my heart?
I don't know‐
Not one notion is trusted
Every conclusion is contested
Every answer is checked, and rechecked,
And rechecked again, and again
And again‐
Until it's rejected
What's known,
Is not believed,
And what's believed,
Is not known for certain‐
Everything is tested
Everything‐
Even that, that I should not,
But be helped, it cannot
There is no benefit of any doubt,
Only shadows‐
An ever evolving void
This is where I am so frequently lost, and found
Why?
On that, I'll need to deliberate.
About the Creator
Josh Morgan
Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
