When in high school I tried an experiment. Just randomly picked out someone I didn't know (there were over a thousand students attending), & began greeting them with a big smile, wave & hello every time I saw them. It took about three days before she replied, "Hi, Randy." At that point I realized the flaw in my little plan. Doggone it, now I had to figure out hers!
And you spend the rest of the day trying to remember who that was.
Yep, been there.
This is why I never go out. 🤣
