Memory Loss Hurts Deep

A Poem of Disappearing Light

By Leesh lalaPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

💔

I hold a name I cannot find,

a fading echo in my mind.

The mirror shows a face I knew,

but now it's lost in shades of blue.

The past is dust, the days are gray,

the colors of my life decay.

A voice calls out with love so true,

but I can't say, "I know it's you."

Hands reach out, but I can't hold

the warmth they gave in days of old.

Photographs shake in trembling hands,

but all that's left are empty lands.

Each thought escapes like breath at night,

each dream dissolves in quiet fright.

I wonder if when all is gone,

I'll still feel pain, or just move on.

This grief is soft, yet cuts so wide,

a silent storm I hold inside.

Memory fades like morning dew,

and takes with it the heart I knew.

Still, in the dark where I can't see,

a flicker burns so quietly.

Though names and faces slip from view,

some part of love still feels like true.

💔 A broken heart beats on, lost in the ruins of memory💔
