It was raining the day you left me.
It rained again today.
The drops brought down the memories of the day you went away.
I tried so hard to keep you.
I tried to make you stay.
I told you that I loved you and that it would be okay.
But you told me you were going.
You said you had to leave.
Now all I have are memories, each one so dear to me.
The way you smiled, the way you laughed, the way you walked across the path.
Of holding you when you were crying, for something someone had done.
And calming you when you were angry, and you just wanted to run.
Of the way you fiercely guarded your children every day.
My heart is still so broken, and my tears still falling down.
My life will never be the same with you not being around.
