Meeting Again
A Sonnet to a Past Life
By Dinah JohnstonPublished 3 years ago • Updated 3 years ago • 1 min read

The brave work of healing the heart of a thousand lifetimes of pain.
From the first moment, it has always been
Warmth and devotion, I felt it from you
That knowing, only the heart would have seen
Touches so deep, I just knew it love too
-
We have met before, this shared life to be
Without a doubt, in the pits of my soul
I hold so dearly what you mean to me
Despite the love, a pain that rips a hole
-
Over lifetimes, heavier by the day
Here a chance to share the darkness inside
Rising fear inside of what you might say
To die again, a truth too large to hide
-
Heart racing to tell you everything
Without you is like flying with one wing
