Meant To Be

But Not Forever

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 3 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

We were meant to be

Just as we were destined to end

This love was not to be forever

It was not written in the tomes of eternity

There were lessons we agreed to learn

Tests we consented to take

Only forgiveness was promised

Bound up in the love that was the covenant and the glue

For the lifetime we came here for

Now it is time to let it go

Shutter the windows

Close the doors

Pull the curtains

Burn the bridges

There is time for one last loving embrace

And a tear or two to be shed

But our souls must now say good-bye

They must move on

Good-bye, my love
