Meaningful measures, meaningless gestures

By Melissa IngoldsbyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

our family is so small

So fragile

our hearts are so tall

Our lives are so sweet and meaningful

But, do our gestures catapult into the mist of meaninglessness,

Is a last passionate kiss between you and I

Lost to the last chapter of a darkly doomed humanity?

I can’t, I won’t

I refuse and refute it; no,

The meaningful measure that can save all

Can’t mean to undo our gestures to imply

Meaninglessness

Our family is a part of that whole,

That all, like

you and me,

My dear sweet wife,

You said without me

Your existence is meaningless

But really, it was the other way around,

As you are my whole world

And my gestures need you, and we are always meaningful

In a world of senseless

Measures.

This is perfect! Good work! The South Park clip is so sweet. I woulda never though to pair that clip with a poem but it is wonderful!

  • Great job 😉❤️

  • The southpark clip made my day. The deep love, the mutually intense devotion. The fear of loss. This poem really moved me. I am thankful to have read this.
