Masquerade

Darling

to the dauntless,

How

are you so flawless?

Born…without an err?

Elegant with that glimmer,

River full of shimmers

Such wondrous fate to bear!

What elegance;

What grace!

A masquerade, hard to be erased?

For beneath that surface

Rests those nightmares, unshared! Those blemishes; all too painful to bear

Fret not, however;

As you see, dear one

Like trees in the forests,

Like hairs on thy head,

There are others like you

Like us.

~ End ~

Writers's note: Poems don’t really have to rhyme that much, but it’s just my style. The aural resonance just gives a sort of charm and interesting-ness to it. That’s my view at least. ^

    This made me think of princess Diana for some reason. I think we're all masquerading to a certain extent in the many roles we have fulfill in life x Enjoyed this very much and the message resonates so well,
