Mary’s Room

Illusion

By MadlebePublished about an hour ago 1 min read

Mary only perceives

black and white.

She can’t tell

when I’m blue.

Envy and greed

are foreign concepts

to her—

but so is love.

At least

she doesn’t judge.

What we want

from each other is

simple:

attention,

attachment,

arousal,

pleasure,

acceptance,

and

freedom.

In one breath

it all evaporates—

floats away.

The silver haze

caresses

and slips

my grasp,

taunting me.
