A Poem

By Atomic HistorianPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

The beast slumbers for now

When she rises no one is sure how

There are always signs of her coming

Leaves fall, the air grows cold

A soft humming

Of a frightful delight

Jack O’Lanterns with sunken faces

Turkey bones strewn across the land

Is all she replaces

Elves dance with glee

As they work day and night

For the man in red to soar

To bring the seasons cheer

But you don’t want to be near

When her siren song comes clanging

As the wreaths are hanging

There is no escape

For someone summons her every year

Just pray it won’t be long

That you have to listen to her song
