Mardi Gras

Live up the night

By Seashell Harpspring Published 2 years ago 1 min read

We come to remind you before you die

You better get your life together

Next time you see us it’s too late to cry

Beware the Bone Man, couldn’t avoid him if you try

Germaine the queen, her ghost in the gown she left us by

Masks on so we don’t know which guy

Giant pot of gumbo with plenty of pie

Many foods that were set to fry

Dancing flames lead us as they blaze high

Floats, candy, and beads come to fly

Horseplay and tiny lies

Do the king cake babies cry?

For Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, live up the night
