This poem recounts the true story of my encounter with God at the age of seven. This is my first time writing about it. Not everyone will believe it, and that's okay. If it hadn't happened to me, I might not believe it either. But I will never forget the sound of that voice... or the way it changed my life forever.
—Sonya Daniela Fisichella aka "Mezmur"
Your voice came
The sound of many waters
Pouring like a fountain
Into a thirsty soul
Dan ie la
It said
Sweet
Like a bell
Gentle
As a lullaby
Dan ie la
The sound
Sweet to my ears
Seemed to fill my very being
I looked, but no one was there
I turned, but none was present
Still, Dan ie la it called
And then, without warning
You appeared.
A burst of light
A shaky breath
A child looks up…
Silence from the waters
But all creation hums
In worship
Of the One
Who peers down
To me now
Face like the sun
Garments radiant
Whiter than snow
Your hair like wool
Your hand outstretched.
Oh, Dream giver
Why
Did you appear
To this child
Knowing
I would run,
With my little
Frightened heart?
Still
At times
I lay awake
And re mem ber
Dan ie la
Dan ie la
Your voice
Soft
Sweet
Small
And though
I have not heard it
With my ears
Since then
It
Guides
My
Life
Dan ie la
Through trial
Dan ie la
Through pain
Dan ie la
When I fall on my face
When I worship
Your name
I know who You are now—
The name above
Every
Other
Name
Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
Speak again, Lord
Your servant
Listens.
