It was neither a flash of emotion,

Nor a matter of love at first sight.

It was, a friendship,

That developed into something more.

It was those precious moments of joy and laughter,

The engagement of conversation and the talk of what could be,

The desire, for what we thought, should be.

It was those moments during the bitter cold of winter,

That the warmth of your love made enduring the desolation,

All the more worthwhile, all the more, comfortable,

With your presence more a delight then warm drink,

Or fine wine.

My dear love, my dear friend,

Let this winter be a reminder for neither what is,

Nor the inspiration for what could be,

But let what is be the motivation for what will be,

As we endure many storms, together, as one...
